Up for sale is a large Antique 1920s Sargent & Greenleaf Combination 4 Safe One piece construction Bank Safe. 3 of the locks are from Sargent & Greenleaf & 1 of them is from Diebold so I'm imagining since 3 of 4 are from Sargent & Greenleaf this is a Sargent & Greenleaf safe & at one point one of the combination locks was replaced with a Diebold. The safe also has 2 pre-drilled holes located inside the bottom compartments so that it can be anchored in place to prevent theft. This safe is original to the bank & the building was constructed in the early 1920's. This large stainless steel with Brass hinges bank safe was part of First Fidelity Bank in Newark which has great historical significance & is affiliated with the 1st bank established in New Jersey. You can reset the combination codes to your choice or just use the master code to unlock, your choice. I'm not sure how much this safe weighs but based on the dimensions I'd estimate 350-450 lbs or more. This large safe is sitting on top of another large double door Sargent & Greenleaf Safe. Safe shows normal signs of use & wear given it's age including some patina & scratches. Dimensions: Overall size 23 1/2"H x 32 1/2"W x 22"D (individual door size 11"H x 16W) This safe is part of a historic bank in Newark NJ called First Fidelity Bank. This bank has a rich historical significance in Newark & dates back to fidelity trust company which was incorporated in 1887, in 1921 Fidelity Trust company merged with Union national bank & became Fidelity Union trust company & in 1981 the name was changed to fidelity union bank. In 1984 Fidelity merged with the First national state bank to become Fidelity Union Bank/First national state. FYI - I Also have a very large Main Vault on the 1st floor of the building & a smaller standard vault door both by Diebold Safe & Lock company , Canton Ohio.
